A dental spittoon has an uptilted rim of triangular form and a rinsing nozzle 25 arranged at the upper apex of the triangle. An outlet pipe 26 is journalled in bracket arm 18 so that the spittoon can be swung into a position of use by arm rest 6 of a dental operating chair.
