PURPOSE: A mortise lock apparatus for sliding and hinged doors is provided to improve the security of a door and prevent forcible opening of the door by employing a latch member. CONSTITUTION: A mortise lock apparatus for sliding and hinged doors comprises a mortise(3) which is embedded in a door(1) and a latch member(X) which is installed on the leading end of the mortise. The latch member comprises a housing, a body(130) which comprises a first elastic member(131) and is installed inside the housing, a latch(150) which comprises a second elastic member and is opened and closed by protruding and retracting according to the back and forth motion of the body, and a catch(160) which is embedded in a door frame(5) corresponding to the latch to open and close the door. |
