PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for providing traffic signal information are provided to control automatically the ignition and the idling by extracting only traffic signal information. CONSTITUTION: A present state information extracting unit(110) extracts traffic signal information from a traffic signal controller. A data generation unit(120) couples location information of signal lights at an intersection with the traffic signal information. A transmission unit transmits data packet to the outside. A traffic signal information provision unit is mounted at a controller. A power supply(140) receives the power from the traffic signal controller and supplies the power.
