PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for identifying locations are provided to identify the relative location and the absolute location using a laser technique or a beam forming technique. CONSTITUTION: A laser eye is composed of two or more sets of laser transmitters/detectors. A reflection principle is applied to the laser eye. Location identification(LID) transmitters(401, 402, 403) transmits beam forming signals. A terminal(404) calculates a location at which the size of the receive beam forming signal is maximum. The terminal measures the absolute location of the LID transmitters based on the beam forming signals.
