PURPOSE: An apparatus for starting casting of a continuous casting system is provided to prevent slipping by using a dummy bar in the event of power failure, loss of driving torque or contact force. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for starting casting of a continuous casting system comprises strand guides, a mold, and a safety devices(20'). The strand guides and the mold comprise a driving roller and guide rollers(11',12'). The strand guides guide a dummy bar(22) into the mold. The strand guides ejected from the mold. The safety devices include an element(25). The safety devices restrict the speed of the dummy bar. The element is engaged with the dummy bar in a form feet state. |
