PURPOSE: Smart energy managing apparatus and method for controlling power consumption are provided to supply energy according to the desire of customers by analyzing energy consuming patterns. CONSTITUTION: A managing server(100) is in connection with electronic appliance using groups through a gateway(200). The gateway is in connection with the network of the electronic appliance using groups based on a zigbee communication method. The gateway corresponds to respect electronic appliance using group. A smart meter(400) measures the amount of power consumption of an electronic appliance(10). A load controller controls the use of power for the electronic appliance.
