PURPOSE: A relay monitoring apparatus and a method thereof are provided to steadily secure wireless quality information in the operation region of a relay. CONSTITUTION: In order that a terminal modem(420) is connected to one of a link antenna(310) and a service antenna(320), a switch(430) performs switching. A controller(460) controls the signal transceiving path of the terminal modem through the switch. The controller transmits information collected as the monitoring result of a relay(330) through the terminal modem to a base station. The controller receives a control command through the base station from a network management server.
