The device has a prism shaped main container whose top is opened, and a set of prism shaped secondary containers (20, 30) or prism shaped cartridges whose dimensions are provided such that the secondary containers are arranged inside the main container without leaving a space between the secondary containers and the main container, where each cartridge is utilized to receive waste of determined type. The cartridges include visual and tactile recognition units that recognize the type of waste. The main container and the cartridges are made of recyclable material i.e. cardboard.
