<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scleral prosthesis which is implanted alone or multiply in a patient's eye to partially or completely restore the accommodative power to a presbyopic eye, and to provide a system including the scleral prosthesis. <P>SOLUTION: The scleral prosthesis 300 includes a body having a first shape at a first temperature and a second shape at a second temperature. The body has the first and second ends 302, 304 that are narrower in the first shape and wider in the second shape. The first and second ends in the second shape are wider than a middle portion of the body in the second shape. The system including the scleral prosthesis further includes a coated material which has a blade configured to form an incision by incising a scleral tissue of patient's eye, and the coated material comprises the scleral prosthesis located thereinside. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
