<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery capable of attaining safety of the battery by restraining a thermal runaway phenomenon or the like even when short-circuiting in the secondary battery occurs, and to provide a short circuit resistance control method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium secondary battery includes a positive electrode 20 containing a positive active material, a negative electrode 30 containing a negative electrode active material, and a polymer electrolyte composition containing polymer electrolyte, a nonaqueous organic solvent, and lithium salt.
