PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation measurement apparatus and a diagnostic method thereof, capable of performing self-diagnosis of high accuracy, on-line for count rate measurement which is essential for radiation measurement using a simple constitution. SOLUTION: The radiation measurement apparatus includes an operation means 7, such that the counted value of a counting means 6 inputting digital pulse from a pulse height discriminating means 2, to count at a fixed cycle and an integrated value of an addition-subtraction integrated means 3, where the digital pulse is added and the feedback pulse is subtracted are input, respectively; and a first count rate is determined, based on the counted value of counting means 6 and the integrated value of the addition-subtraction integrated means 3, while a second count rate is obtained based on the integrated value of the addition-subtraction integrated means 3 and then diagnoses soundness of the addition-subtraction integrated means 3 to be output, by comparing the first count rate with the second count rate.
