PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent sheets from being contaminated with ink adhered to a carriage roller that constitutes a carrying means, in a printing device provided with the carrying means carrying sheets from a first printing means to a second printing means. SOLUTION: The printing device 1 includes: the first printing means 3; the second printing means 5; and the carrying means carrying the sheets P to the second printing means 5. The carrying means includes: a first carriage roller 82; and a second carriage roller 83 arranged on the downstream side thereof. After the first carriage roller 82 starts driving, it temporarily stops before the forefront of the sheet bumps against the suspended second carriage roller 83. Thereafter, it resumes driving so as to force the forefront of the sheet to bump against the second carriage roller 83, in the time period when the first carriage roller 82 is accelerating in this resumed driving. After the sheet P has a slack, the second carriage roller 83 starts driving. Meanwhile, the resumed driving of the first carriage roller 82 is continued as an assist driving, at least, until the slack is resolved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
