PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce costs by forming components for a protection function for protecting a wiper motor of general purpose components. SOLUTION: A driving rod 40 and a coupling rod 50 for transmitting a driving force from an output shaft 21a to each pivot shaft 22a, 22b are provided between the output shaft 21a and an AS side pivot shaft 22b and between the AS side pivot shaft 22b and a DR side pivot shaft 22a and the rods 40 and 50 have bends 41, 42 and 51 bend-deformed under the load by wiper blades 12a and 12b. In case of avalanche of snow or the like onto a windshield 11 during the operation of a wiper apparatus 20, the bends 41, 42 and 51 under load by the wiper blades 12a and 12b are bend-deformed into a more acute angle.
