PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of enhancing adhesiveness between rubber and cord while retaining a plurality of high performance required by a carcass ply without changing blending prescription of coating rubber covering a steel cord embedded in the carcass ply. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire includes: a carcass 7 constituted of at least one carcass ply 9 with an embedded steel cord covered with coating rubber; a belt 11 constituted of at least two belt plies arranged at the outside of the carcass 7 in the tire radial direction; a tread arranged at the outside of the belt 11 in the tire radial direction; stiffener rubber 8 for bead reinforcement; and cushion rubber 10 for belt end reinforcement. Between at least the carcass ply 9 and the stiffener rubber 8 and/or between the carcass ply 9 and the cushion rubber 10, there is disposed a sheet made of a rubber composition containing a dewaterbility material.
