PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently read a medical image including abnormal shadow candidates. SOLUTION: A target image for reading is divided into a plurality of regions of interest R1-R16. The regions of interest R6, R9 and R11 including abnormal shadow candidates are determined based on abnormal shadow candidate detection information. When the regions of interest are enlarged and displayed, the regions of interest R6, R9 and R11 including abnormal shadow candidates are displayed in the order of the malignancy of the abnormal shadow candidates, and the other regions of interest are sequentially displayed thereafter.
