METHOD FOR PREPARATION OF FICUS THUNBERGII VARIANT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparation of Ficus thunbergii variant excellent in nitrogen oxide absorption capacity. SOLUTION: The Ficus thunbergii variant is obtained by the method including following steps of (i) to (iii): (i) a step of irradiating an explant of parent strain of Ficus thunbergii with an ion beam; (ii) a step of obtaining plant bodies by culturing the explant irradiated with the ion beam; and (iii) a step of screening the Ficus thunbergii variant having a higher nitrogen oxide absorption capacity than that of the parent strain from the plant bodies. The Ficus thunbergii variant with excellent nitrogen oxide absorption capacity such as nitrogen dioxide, suitable for wall surface greening such as roof and wall can be provided.
