Disclosed is plasma display panel wherein loading phenomenon is reduced and image display qualities are improved. An image signal processing circuit (41) has: a lighting cell number calculating section (60) which calculates the number of lighting cells; a load value calculating section (61) which calculates the load value of each discharge cell on the basis of the calculation results obtained from the lighting cell number calculating section (60); a correction gain calculating section (62) which calculates the correction gain of each discharge cell on the basis of the calculation results obtained from the load value calculating section (61); a pattern detecting section (63) which determines whether the loading phenomenon is generated in a display image; an adjustment factor generating section (65) which generates an adjustment factor on the basis of the determination results obtained from the pattern detecting section (63); a correction gain adjusting section (64) which generates an adjusted correction gain by multiplying the correction gain by the adjustment factor; and a correcting section (69), which corrects image signals on the basis of the adjusted correction gain.
