<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus which includes one or more sensors for collecting and storing data relating to an individual's physiological state and various contextual parameters. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for detecting physiological or contextual information includes a flexible section, a housing 805 removably attached to the flexible section, the one or more sensors, and a processor. The apparatus has adjustable operating parameters. Another apparatus that is adapted to measure heat flux includes a housing 805 and a base member having known resistivity, a processing unit, and two temperature measuring devices one of which is in thermal communication with a body and the other is in thermal communication with the ambient environment. Another apparatus includes a housing 805 having an adhesive on its surface for attaching the housing 805 to the body.
