<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and composition for in vivo and in vitro targeting. <P>SOLUTION: A large number of targeting peptides directed towards human organs, tissues, or cell types are disclosed. A novel class of gene therapy vectors is useful for targeted delivery of therapeutic agents including but not limited to gene therapy vectors. Certain of the disclosed peptides are therapeutically used for inhibiting angiogenesis, inhibiting tumor growth, inducing apoptosis, inhibiting pregnancy, or inducing weight loss. The composition is applied for identifying novel targeting peptides in humans, identifying endogenous receptor-ligand pairs, identifying novel infectious agents that are causal for human disease states, as well as inducing apoptosis. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
