PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively repelling animals, and a fitting or a fixture repelling animals and insects over a long period of time. SOLUTION: The method for repelling animals comprises: an area establishing step of establishing a repelling area 100 and an attracting area 101 not overlapping with the repelling area 100 within a range of activity 1 of an animal; and a volatilization step of volatilizing a volatile component contained in Cinnamomum camphora only in the repelling area 100 and not in the attracting area 101.
