PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can effectively use an air cleaner without making a used electric power at a predetermined value or higher among the electric power restricted by an electric power supply cord or the like under a using environment of the image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus 100 equipped with the air cleaner 71 operated by a single electric power supply, operating modes of the air cleaner 71 are set in accordance with respective operating modes of the image forming apparatus 100. A table dividing the operating modes of the air cleaner 71 into groups based on a predetermined condition is provided. The operating modes of the air cleaner 71 are set so that the total electric power consumption of the electric power consumption of the operating modes of the image forming apparatus 100 and the electric power consumption of the operating modes of the air cleaner 71 in respective groups is at most a predetermined value, and based on the table, operation controlling for the air cleaner 71 is performed in accordance with the operating modes of the image forming apparatus 100.
