PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retainer for a roller bearing, which is easy to injection-mold, can further increase the oil quantity of lubricating oil between pockets, has high dust discharge and cooling effects, and can surely prevent oil film exhaustion. SOLUTION: The retainer includes annular portions 27 laterally provided with a space in the axial direction; a plurality of strut portions 28 disposed between the annular portions 27 over the whole circumference at intervals to mutually connect the annular portions 27; and a plurality of pockets 29 formed to be surrounded by the lateral annular portions 27 and the strut portions 28 at anteroposterior positions in the circumferential direction and rotatably supporting rollers. A plurality of stepped portions 30 is provided on the outer periphery of each strut portion 28 and the lateral annular portions 27, and a stepped surface 32 formed between the stepped portions 30 is formed as an inclined surface inclined in the axial direction.
