PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imager capable of employing infinite turning of an imaging portion even in cable wiring, in order to manufacture the imager at a lower cost and improve its reliability. SOLUTION: The imager includes a turntable 2 supported in a turnable fashion by a device body 3, a motor 12 for turning and driving the turntable 2, an imaging portion 1 held in a rotatable fashion at the turntable 2 in a way that a rotation center axis thereof is arranged towards a direction perpendicular to a turning center axis of the turntable 2, a cable wiring 5 arranged along with the turning center axis to connect the device body 3 with the imaging portion 1, and transmission means 13 and 14 for transmitting a torque to the imaging portion 1. The transmission means 13 and 14 transmit the torque to the imaging portion 1 such that the sum of an angle of turning operation of the imaging portion 1 along with a turning operation of the turntable 2 and an angle of rotation of the imaging portion 1 is set to 0.
