A lithium secondary battery has a negative electrode sheet (20) in which the theoretical capacities of a negative electrode active material per unit area are equalized between a negative electrode laminate layer (24b) on the outer circumference side of a negative electrode collector (22) and a negative electrode laminate layer (24a) on the inner circumference side thereof. At lease part of a bend portion (85) arranged so as to be bent toward the inside in a wound electrode body (80) is configured so as to satisfy at least one of the following conditions: (1) the binder content of the negative electrode laminate layer (24b) on the outer circumference side is less than that of the negative electrode laminate layer (24a) on the inner circumference side; and (2) the density of the negative electrode laminate layer (24b) on the outer circumference side is less than that of the negative electrode laminate layer (24a) on the inner circumference side.
