PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate an optical pulse signal with sufficiently-strong peak intensity of an optical pulse and with a sufficiently-small duty ratio of the same.

SOLUTION: This optical pulse signal generator 52 includes: a multicolor optical pulse train generation part 20; a wavelength disperser 22; an optical modulator 24; and a wavelength reverse disperser 26. The multicolor optical pulse train generation part generates and outputs a multicolor optical pulse train 21 where multicolor optical pulses including N types of wavelength components are arranged at equal intervals on a time axis. The wavelength disperser outputs a wavelength decomposition optical pulse train 23 formed by serially arranging unit optical pulse trains on a time axis by inputting the multicolor optical pulse train 21. The optical modulator generates and outputs a wavelength decomposition optical pulse signal 25 by inputting the wavelength decomposition optical pulse train. The wavelength reverse disperser generates and outputs a multicolor optical pulse signal 27 formed from multicolor optical pulses including N types of wavelength components by inputting the wavelength decomposition optical pulse signal.
