<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To completely remove ambiguity in phase. <P>SOLUTION: A method of transmitting data in a digital communication system includes (a) a first transmission step of transmitting a first symbol representing a plurality of first bits, the symbol having a first modulation state; and an at least one-more transmission step of transmitting extra symbols representing the plurality of first bits, the respective extra symbols having another modulation state.
