PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain highly accurate transmission power control when the mode of a power amplifier is switched between a compressed mode and a non-compressed mode. SOLUTION: An output power error in a mode to a power setting value of a mode before switching is calculated as a comparison reference value error (a step ST32), the power setting value of a switching destination mode is set (a step ST33) for negating an output power error between modes. An output power error in a mode to the power setting value of the switching destination mode is calculated (a step ST35), the value of gain linearity is calculated on the basis of the power setting value of the switching destination mode and the output power error in the mode (a step ST36), and the power setting value of the switching destination mode is reset (steps ST37, 38) for canceling the comparison reference value error in the mode before switching and the output power error in the switching destination mode on the basis of the value of gain linearity.
