PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a high quality distance image efficiently in accordance with an object within a space to be photographed. SOLUTION: The intensity value of each pixel is calculated from the amount of charge corresponding to the light receiving amount received by a photoelectric conversion element, and correction is made only for a pixel of which the intensity is a predetermined value or less. The correction is made by adding the amount of charge of the same pixel in a retroactive manner. The addition is made until the intensity value calculated from the amount of charge after an addition becomes a predetermined value or more.
