PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a fixing belt from being kept bent due to a corner part of a peeling pad. SOLUTION: A fixing device has: a fixing belt 56 which is wound on a heating roll 52 and a support roll 54, and circulates at a low speed or a high speed; a pressure member 58 in contact with the fixing belt 56 for rotation, and holds and conveys a recording medium P with a developer image transferred thereon, between the pressure member 58 and the fixing belt 56; and a contact and separation means 160 which brings the pressure member 58 in contact with or separates it from the fixing belt 56. A control means 16 heats the heating roll 52, while the pressure member 58 is separated from the fixing belt 56 and the rotation of the fixing belt 56 is stopped, to increase the temperature of the fixing belt 56, before printing is executed. When the temperature of the fixing belt 56 exceeds a preset temperature, the fixing belt 56 circulates at a low speed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
