摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress shock during release of a parking lock by suppressing the accumulation of a driving force in a drive line when an automatic transmission is switched from an R or D position to a P position with an R or D-to-P operation. SOLUTION: When an R or D-to-P operation is carried out by a driver, under at least any one of a brake-on condition and the condition that a vehicle is stopped at a place whose road surface gradient &theta;<SB>R</SB>is a predetermined gradient &theta;<SB>R</SB>' or less, prior to switching to a parking position using the shift switching mechanism, the neutral state of the automatic transmission in which the power transmission path in the automatic transmission is broken is established by the shift switching mechanism while an R or D position is maintained, and then switching to the parking position using the shift switching mechanism is started after a predetermined delay time T<SB>DEL</SB>has elapsed.
