The invention relates to a ballast for lighting means, the ballast having a power factor correction circuit PFC, the PFC comprising an inductor (4) which is cyclically charged on the basis of a supply voltage and discharged by operating a switch (3), the switch being controlled by a preferably integrated control circuitry, the control circuitry being designed for evaluating the supply voltage of the PFC on the basis of a feedback signal, furthermore comprising a diode (5) for supplying the discharge current from the inductor to the output (UBus)of the PFC. Thereby the feedback signal (1) for the control circuitry is tapped off from a voltage divider (8) connected between the inductor and the diode and being provided in parallel to the switch, wherein no shunt is connected in series to the switch. |
