摘要 <p>Writing periods of a plasma display device need to be reduced while degradation of image display quality of the device is suppressed. To this end, in a method of driving a plasma display device including a plasma display panel and a driving circuit, right-eye fields in which right-eye image signals are displayed and left-eye fields in which left-eye image signals are displayed are alternately displayed on the plasma display panel. In each of the right-eye fields and the left-eye fields, a subfield with a lowest brightness weighting is generated first, a subfield with a highest brightness weighting is generated next, and other subfields are subsequently generated. Scanning pulses are applied to each scanning electrode in the subfields with the lowest brightness weighting and those with the highest brightness weighting (one-line writing), and are simultaneously applied to every two adjacent scanning electrodes in the other subfields (two-line simultaneous writing) while the fields are alternately displayed.</p>
