PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil for an internal combustion engine for reducing thermal stress generated in an insulation case without requiring a stress relaxing structure.
SOLUTION: The ignition coil for an internal combustion engine includes: a primary coil and a secondary coil wound around a coil bobbin; an iron core for magnetically coupling the two coils to each other; and an insulation case for storing them therein, wherein the stored members are fixed by an insulating resin filled in the insulation case, and high voltage is generated in the secondary coil using change of magnetic flux density caused by current carrying/interruption to the primary coil. Since the iron core is composed of a first iron core formed of a single magnetic plate stored in the insulation case, and a second iron core arranged outside the insulation case, only the first iron core formed of the single magnetic plate is located in the insulation case, thermal stress generated between the insulating synthetic resin covering the circumference and the first iron core can be reduced, and a stress relaxing structure for relaxing it can be eliminated.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
|
