MEDIUM PINCHING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium pinching device reducing problems caused by a burr of a recording medium and reducing the occurrence of wrinkle of the recording medium, and an image forming device.

SOLUTION: The medium pinching device includes: a first circumferentially moving body having a circumferential surface that is more rigid than a recording medium on a surface of which an image is formed in which the circumferential surface is circumferentially moved; a second circumferentially moving body having a circumferential surface that is more rigid than the recording medium in which the circumferential surface is circumferentially moved and the recording medium is passed between the circumferential surface and the circumferential surface of the first circumferentially moving body; a load providing part for pinching the recording medium by the first circumferentially moving body and the second circumferentially moving body due to a load by providing the load to at least one of the first circumferentially moving body and the second circumferentially moving body; and a switching part which switches in accordance with the type of the recording medium between a separating state where the first circumferentially moving body and the second circumferentially moving body are separated from each other against the load and a pinching state where the recording medium is pinched by the first circumferentially moving body and the second circumferentially moving body.
