<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve service improvement to a purchase customer by using a card with versatility. <P>SOLUTION: Merchandise value discount information recorded in a recording part 22 of a non-contact IC card 16 is read through a non-contact IC card reader/writer 17, and stored in a merchandise value discount information buffer 71. Purchased merchandise information corresponding to a merchandise code input through a scanner 65 is stored in a purchased merchandise information buffer 72. Then, when the input end of the purchased merchandise is declared through the subtotal key of a keyboard 61, whether or not the pertinent merchandise code exists in the merchandise value discount information buffer 72 is determined based on the merchandise code stored in the purchased merchandise information buffer 71.
