PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an olefin polymerization catalyst, by which the shape of the catalyst is improved by controlling the active point distribution on solid acid particles by the addition of a donor. SOLUTION: The olefin polymerization catalyst is produced by bringing a component (a) into contact with a component (b), then bringing the resulting contact product into contact with a component (c), and thereafter, bringing the resulting contact product into contact with a component (d).
