PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out detection of paper thickness of a medium conveyed through a conveyance path stably in comparison to when not having a vibration control member. SOLUTION: The image forming device (U) has the conveyance path (SH1) conveying the medium (S), medium conveyance members (14-21, 61-67, 81-84) disposed in the conveyance path (SH1) and conveying the medium (SH1), a medium thickness detecting device (72) detecting the thickness of the medium (S) conveyed through the conveyance path (SH1), guide members (7, 33) having a first guide member (7, 33) and a second guide member (7, 33) facing each other from both sides of the conveyance path (SH1) and capable of relatively moving the first guide member (7, 33) and the second guide member (7, 33) between a conveyance position of allowing conveyance of the medium (SH1) through the conveyance path (SH1) and a release position of releasing the conveyance path (SH1), and the vibration control member (92) disposed between the first guide member (7, 33) and the second guide member (7, 33) and suppressing vibration generated in the guide members (7, 33).
