PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of alleviating burdens of a user concerning re-scanning of channels, and suppressing power consumption when a broadcast receiver is at a power off state to update the latest channel list. SOLUTION: This digital broadcast receiver is provided with: a first tuner (102) and a second tuner (103) which receive digital broadcast signals; and a control circuit (114) for performing channel scan. Then, the control circuit acquires schedule information showing channel change date and time when a broadcasting station is opened, closed, or a frequency is changed from the received digital broadcast signals when a power supply of the digital broadcast signal receiver is at an on state, and when the present date and time pass the change date and time shown by the acquired channel information, performs the channel scan using a tuner at an idle state of the first and the second tuners.
