<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To irradiate a liquid crystal display device with laser light (hereinafter described as light in short) from an optical indication input device (pointer) to make the liquid crystal display device detect an irradiation position as the indication input position, the liquid crystal display device detecting indication input on the basis of a result of output of an optical sensor in a display panel. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device 10 has an optical sensor in a display panel and includes a function which turns a backlight (hereinafter BL) on and off and detects an indication input position on the basis of a difference in the output of the optical sensor between a state in which the BL is turned on and a state in which the BL is turned off. A pointer 30 irradiates the display panel with light to execute indication input. The pointer 30 has a light emission part which radiates the light, the optical sensor 34 which detects the illumination light of the BL from the display panel, and a memory which stores the blinking timing of the BL which is computed on the basis of the detected light. The pointer turns the light on and off in synchronization with the blinking of the BL to radiate the light to the display panel, and the liquid crystal display device 10 detects a light-radiated position, as the indication input position, on the basis of the output of the optical sensor of the display panel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
