<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated plate-like body which comprises a robust polymer coating having a substantially uniform structure, a method for producing the coated plate-like body, and the coated plate-like body. <P>SOLUTION: The method involves the followings: immobilizing an initiator molecule onto the surface 12a of the plate-like body by using surface coupling groups, initiating polymerization from initiating sites of the initiator anchored on the surface of the plate-like body. The disclosed method allows uniform growth of the polymer chains 16 so as to produce the robust coated plate-like body with a smooth coated surface 14. The disclosed system includes only the coated plate-like body and a solvent, requiring no additional polymer resin other than the resin covalently bonded to the plate-like body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
