PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copier which can achieve good expansion or reduction processing. SOLUTION: When determined in the step S104, that the size of an original is equal to that of a recording paper, and also, recording processing to be performed by a recording part is unmagnified processing, a magnification specifying part specifies as the magnification of the image, unmagnification (third magnification) to record the image read from the original with the same size as that of the original image (S105). When determined in the step S106, that an automatic magnification setting mode is specified, the magnification specifying part specifies as the magnification of the image to be recorded on the recording paper, a reversible magnification (first magnification) to reversibly expand or reduce (S107). Meanwhile, when determined in the step S106, that the automatic magnification setting mode is not set, the magnification specifying part specifies as the magnification of the image to be recorded on the recording paper, a fixed magnification (second magnification) input through a display part or an operation part.
