PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a breakdown strength test of an image forming apparatus by supplying power for forcibly turning on a relay inside the apparatus without using an external supply such as a power supply for a breakdown strength test. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a commercial AC power supply 1; an AC/DC converter generating DC voltage from the commercial AC power supply 1; a heater 61 of a fixing device to which power is supplied from the commercial AC power supply 1; and the relays 53 and 54 provided in a power supply path from the commercial AC power supply 1 to the heater 61. The image forming apparatus includes a capacitor 72 in which power for maintaining the relay in an on-state for a predetermined time is stored, and a transistor 73 which forcibly sets the relay to the on-state by operation of an external switch 51.
