PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a suction condition of an electronic component by a suction nozzle by using a detection device before mounting, to detect the suction condition again by the detection device after performing a recovery operation when the suction condition is defective, and to reliably recover the electronic component. SOLUTION: The electronic component mounting device includes: an on-off valve 49B for switching between air supply and stop of the air supply; a switching valve 49A for switching a vacuum source and an air supply source to communicate; an air-switching valve, arranged corresponding to each suction nozzle, for communicating with the on-off valve 49B or the switching valve 49A; a line sensor unit 37 for detecting the suction condition of each electronic component before mounting; and a CPU 90 for controlling each air-switching valve when the suction condition is determined to be defective by the sensor unit 37 to perform a recovery operation to a recovery box, thereafter performing control to detect the suction condition by the sensor unit 37 again, and controlling all the air-switching valves to perform a recovery operation to the recovery box when the detection result shows that the suction condition is defective again.
