<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical position detecting device which adequately sets the light emitted intensity of detection light, when it detects the detection light reflected from a subject to detect the position of the subject, and to provide a display device equipped with a position detecting function. <P>SOLUTION: The optical position detecting device 10 forms intensity distribution of detection light L2, in a detection area 10R by light-emitting elements 12A-12D for forming light intensity distribution, and detects the position of a subject object Ob, on the basis of the result of the detection of the detection light L2 reflected from the subject object Ob, with the detection being carried out by a photodetector 30. The optical position detecting device 10 is provided with light-emitting elements 12E-12G for reference which emit a reference light made incident to the photodetector 30 without passing through the detection area 10R; and for this reason, even when the detection light L2 emitted from the light-emitting elements 12A-12D is not made incident to the photodetector 30, when driving conditions are set, the balance of the light intensity distribution can be monitored, and the driving conditions which optimize the balance of the light intensity distribution can be set. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
