<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display system for viewing video displays having the appearance of a three-dimensional image. <P>SOLUTION: A system for displaying a three-dimensional (3D) image on a screen includes a pair of 3D glasses having a left shutter and a right shutter, a central control unit (CPU), and a signal transmitter for transmitting a signal to a video screen. The 3D glasses include a frame, and the shutters, a signal sensor, another CPU, a shutter control unit, a battery, and a battery sensor are attached and supported in the frame. The shutters includes liquid crystal cells which are provided as a left and a right display lens, and opened when the cells change from an opaque state to a transparent state and closed when the cells change from the transparent state to the opaque state. The transmitted signal is reflected by the screen to travel toward the signal sensor. The signal sensor detects the transmitted signal, and informs the other CPU of the presence of the signal.
