PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely extinguish a fire in an automatic warehouse with a limited amount of a fire extinguishing agent. SOLUTION: The automatic warehouse system includes a rack, a conveyance device traveling along the front surface of the rack, and a fire extinguishing unit with a tank of the fire extinguishing agent and a nozzle. In case of fire, the fire extinguishing unit is conveyed by the conveyance device, and the fire extinguishing agent is jetted out from the nozzle into an ignited frontage. Both surfaces above and below the frontage of the rack are made as a nonflammable or flame-resistant ceiling or floor, and both right-and-left side surfaces and a back surface are made as nonflammable or flame-resistant walls. The fire extinguishing unit includes a lid member covering the frontage of the rack without interfering with the jet of the fire extinguishing agent from the nozzle.
