The driving shaft 25 of a mortise lock is disposed within a bearing sleeve 21, 22, characterized in that the said bearing sleeve is subdivided in several interengaging sleeve portions of which at least the outer sleeve portions are secured against rotation by interengaging means between the sleeve portions and the lockcasing walls, all bearing sleeve portions being held together by said driving shaft. The latch bar 2 is withdrawn against the action of a spring 5 by projections 17 on the ends of tubes 18, 19 rotated by the handles 31, 32, respectively. The locking bar 3 is extended or withdrawn by rotation of the member 13 on the shaft 25 which, owing to the link 12, gives an extended throw.</p> |
