<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a person support apparatus such as a hospital bed that includes an inflatable support structure. <P>SOLUTION: The person support apparatus includes: a variable output pump 14 which is in fluid communication with the inflatable support structure 12; and a controller 16 which is coupled to the variable output pump 14 and includes a means for dynamically varying the output of the pump 14 to maintain the output pressure of the pump 14 to a value slightly higher than the pressure in the inflatable support structure 12 during the inflation process to maintain a constant flow from the pump 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
