The invention relates to an electronic component (31, 32) for the prevention of reverse currents and for the protection from excess currents in a photovoltaic system which comprises at least two strands (10, 11) connected in parallel, each of which comprises at least one solar module (4, 8), the electronic component (31, 32) being designed to be connected in series to at least one of the solar modules (4, 8), and the electronic component (31, 32) comprising a series connection of a diode and a fuse. The invention further relates to a photovoltaic system comprising at least two strands (10, 11) connected in parallel, each of which comprises at least one solar module (4, 8), and further comprising an electronic component (31, 32) for the prevention of reverse currents and the protection from excess currents in the photovoltaic system, the electronic component (31, 32) being connected in series to at least one of the solar modules (4, 8) and the electronic component (31, 32) comprising a series connection of a diode and a fuse.
