<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slurry for a gas diffusion electrode base material capable of manufacturing gas diffusion electrode base materials inexpensively. <P>SOLUTION: The slurry for the electrode base materials SLR for manufacturing the gas diffusion electrode base materials 18, 20 contains carbon fiber 26, carbon fine particles 28, a solvent SLV, and resin 30 dissolved in the solvent SLV, so that the gas diffusion electrode base materials 18, 20 can be manufactured by removing the solvent SLV by heating a sheet-shaped molding body SH obtained by molding the slurry for the electrode base materials SLR at a low temperature of 100 to 150°C to dry it and harden the resin 30. In other words, there is no need of high-temperature calcination as in the case of carbon paper or the like, so that the gas diffusion electrode base materials 18, 20 can be manufactured inexpensively. Further, unless the solvent SLV gives, for example, adverse chemical effects on an electrolyte film 12, mass productivity of an MEA 10 can be enhanced by, for example, coating the slurry for the electrode base materials SLR on the electrolyte film 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
